Should You Repair Or Replace Your Auto Glass?

Most insurance companies prefer you have both cracked or chipped windshields replaced not repaired. If a person has comprehensive coverage as part of their auto insurance, the cost (which is less any appropriate deductible) is usually covered for a full windshield replacement. Often it is cheaper to replace your windshield rather then repair it.

Get An Estimate For Insurance

Usually, the insurance company will want to see an estimate for the cost of a windshield replacement. Just stop by or give us a call at (555) 555-5555 for an estimate, or you can use our convenient online form. We can also email it or fax it to you so you can give it to your insurance company for approval.

If you give us your insurance adjuster’s contact information, we can send them a copy so you don’t have to bother sending it. Our quotes are highly competitive and likely to be easily approved by insurance companies.

Once the approval is in place, then we can schedule an appointment to make the windshield replacement. We can also do any other side window replacement or rear window replacement needed at the same time.

What About Repair?

If there is no insurance coverage and the windshield is only chipped, then it is more cost-effective to repair the glass chip instead of doing a full windshield replacement. The repair technology is excellent, and the glass will look like new once we are finished with the windshield repair. However, not all chips can be repaired. Being able to complete a successful repair depends on the chip’s size and its location on the windshield.

To find out if repair is possible, stop by or take a photo of the chipped glass area, and then email us the photo for a quote.

ADAS Recalibration

Newer vehicles may have Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These systems work with Lidar, which is a laser system that helps track the surrounding environment of the vehicle and determine the vehicle’s positioning in relation to other nearby things.

To work properly, these systems may need to shine a laser through the front windshield glass. This means extra care must be taken to make sure any window repairs do not interfere with the ADAS. Our professional technicians have extra training in this issue and know how to make repairs that are ADAS compliant and then perform the required recalibration.

If the windshield repair might interfere with the ADAS and cannot be re-calibrated properly, then the windshield will have to be replaced with a new one.

Contact us today if you need any help with windshield repair or replacement and an insurance quote to get the job done properly. We serve  the entire East and West Valley. We are the auto glass installers and the rock chip repair company you can count on.
